Request a Pre-Move-Out Inspection (Template)

Use this before you move out to reduce surprise deductions and create a written record of issues the landlord claims need fixing.

Not all states require a pre-inspection, and rules vary. If it’s offered (or you can request it), it helps you fix easy items and document what the landlord claims is needed.

For your own documentation, use the move-in checklist and take a complete photo set at move-out (guide: photo checklist).
